Hugh Dale Browning was born in New Hope, Kentucky, on June 15, 1940, son of Joseph Hugh and Annie Nathalie (Williamson) Browning. He departed this life on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his home in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 7 days .
Hugh was united in marriage to Hazel Louise Asbury on September 19,1960, at Sterling, Illinois. He was an electrician and foreman with Northwestern Steel and Wire for many years. Hugh was a member of Southfork River Regulators, Patriots, EAA of Osh Kosh, VFW Post # 9777, the NRA and Airport Commission.
He is survived by his wife Hazel of Salem, Arkansas; two daughters, Dawn Anthony and husband Bill of Salem, Arkansas, and Michelle Browning of Splendor, Texas; two sons, Jeff Browning and wife Leah, and Tom Browning and wife Kelly, all of Salem, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchldren; two sisters, Veronica and Camillia; two brothers, Doug and wife Robin, and Jerome and wife Jackie; many other relatives and friends. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; one son Joseph Hugh Browning; two brothers, Mike and Jeff; and one sister Jennifer.
Funeral services will be held at the VFW Hall in Salem, Arkansas, at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, with Bro. Ron Hammond officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 25, from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM at VFW Hall. Memorials preferred to Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Pallbearers are William Anthony, Roger Thompson, Steve Clark, Mark Anthony, Dave Campbell, Tom Browning and Grey Windham.
