Leroy James Nottingham was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, on December 3, 1934, son of William James and Gladys Mae (Parsons) Nottingham. He departed this life Friday, March 7, 2014, at his residence in Viola, Arkansas, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 4 days.
Leroy was united in marriage to Jan Gaddy on December 23, 1952, at Claremore, Oklahoma. He was an iron worker in the construction industry and of the Protestant faith.
Leroy is survived by his wife Jan of the home; one daughter Teressa Bowers and husband John of Dekalb, Illinois; six sons, Gary Nottingham and wife Diana of West Chicago, Illinois, Larry Nottingham and wife Holly of Moody, Missouri, Jeff Nottingham and wife Sheryl of Viola, Arkansas, Stuart Nottingham of Viola, Arkansas, Scott Nottingham and wife Laura of West Chicago, Illinois, and Kyle Nottingham of Camp Lejune, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister Hazel Mullinex of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother Earl Nottingham of Claremore, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Bertha Shepard.
Funeral services will be held at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas, at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 12, 2014, with Bro. David Gibson officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 Noon until service time at the church. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
