Fred Donald Linthicum was born in Picher, Oklahoma, on July 26, 1930, son of Fred and Dorthy (Harvey) Linthicum. He departed this life Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Fred was united in marriage to Bettie Jewel Hord on January 6, 1952, in Globe, Arizona. He was a foreman and copper smelter in the copper industry for many years. Fred attended Salem First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife Bettie of the home in Glencoe, Arkansas; one daughter Darlene Babcock of Glencoe, Arkansas; three sons, Fred Linthicum and wife Debbie of Cave City, Arkansas, Johney Linthicum and wife Carla of the State of Colorado and Harold Linthicum of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren; two honorary granddaughters; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Jewel Lawrence of Eugene, Oregon, Mary Ann French of Salem, Illinois, and Sharon Kay Walker of Globe, Arizona; many other relatives and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alfred Linthicum.
Graveside service and interment will be held at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2014, with Bro. Kenn DeShane officiating.
