Evelyn Darlene Willett was born in Olden, Missouri, on June 8, 1926, daughter of Adam "Chick" Turner Sr and Gladys Marie Brown Turner. She departed this life Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 18 days.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Kenneth Eutah Willett on September 17, 1948, in Salem, Arkansas. She was employed at Fulton County Hospital for forty-five years as Dietary Supervisor. Evelyn, along with her husband, Kenneth, operated Salem Livestock Auction for many years. She was a member of Salem First Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Evelyn is survived by one daughter Sharon Carpenter and husband Mike of Salem, Arkansas; one son Charles Willett and wife Karen of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Michael Willett and wife Elana of Atlanta, Georgia, Kole Carpenter and wife Amy of Russellville, Arkansas, Kevin Carpenter and wife Melanie of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Kristi Kenslow and husband Mike of West Plains, Missouri; ten great grandchildren; one brother Adam Turner Jr of Kimberling City, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation will be held Monday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Richard Frazier, Thadnel Willett, Darrel Zimmer, Mike Dover, Ronnie Adams and Tim Hodges. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry "Poppi" Blevins, Roger Brown, Dr. David Kauffman, Justin Branscum, Zach Branscum, Tommy Richmond, Mack Harbour, J D Gleghorn and
J W Guffey. Memorials preferred to Fulton County Hospital for new furnishings for the rooms or charity of your choice.
