Jerry Gene Rumage was born in Rockford, Illinois, on June 8, 1934, to Edward O. and Anna Pauline (Headley) Rumage. He went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2013, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 28 days.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mae L. Rumage of the home in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; three children, Deborah (Randy) Coulter of Springfield, Missouri, Michael (Darla) Rumage of Urbandale, Iowa, and Carol Ross of Lincoln, Nebraska; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
He lived in Des Moines, Iowa, where he met the love of his life (Mae Jones) and married her on March 28, 1953. Jerry spent his life's career in the Air Conditioning and Appliance repair business and continued after moving to Horseshoe Bend in April of 1986 with his own company. Jerry was a long time member of the Eagles and served as President and Chaplain. He served on the Reserve Police Department for 26 years, served on the city council and was the Street Commissioner for 13 years.
Jerry and Mae spent a lot of time on Crown Lake on the pontoon and the whole family enjoyed swimming, fishing, and skiing every summer. He loved living in Horseshoe Bend and loved the people who lived there.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
