Katlin Simone Loux of Bossier City, La., was born on Sept 8, 1995, on Barksdale Air Force Base, and left us way too soon, on May 26, 2013, at the tender age of 17. Katlin, affectionately known as our, “one in a million kid you dream about”, was a beautiful, talented, loving, sweet soul, who was gifted in so many ways. She loved music and taught herself to play the guitar, piano, drums, and played bass clarinet in the Parkway High School Band. Her passion was photography though, and she touched the lives of so many with her magical ability to see what no one else could, and bring those images to life in her pictures. Katlin was generous to all and volunteered her Summers with the Red Cross and Barksdale AFB. She graduated Parkway High School just two weeks ago and was making plans to begin her education in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Counseling, so that she could help troubled teens. She left us with so many wonderful memories of a quiet, gentle, intelligent, and beautiful girl, inside and out, and her short life brought joy to many. She will be deeply missed, Heaven has a new Angel.

Many have heard the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”, and it is so true. If your child is being bullied, do everything you can to stop it, it won’t be easy, but don’t give up. If you have a child that is a bully, you do everything within your power to stop it; the pain they inflict is devastating. If you know someone is being bullied, is struggling, is in pain, do something. Contact someone, call the parents, speak up, and help that person out! You might just save a life.
