James Dorman Garrett was born in Lynch, Missouri, March 4, 1938, son of Jesse "Jess" Wilford and Lydia Beulah (McKee) Garrett. He departed this life May 25, 2013, at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 21 days.
James worked with iron in the construction industry, the railroad, and off shore oil drilling rigs before retiring. He was a member of Central Calvary Baptist Church.
James is survived by two daughters, Kelly Garrett, of Koshkonong, Missouri, and Margie Vandiver (Bobby) of Koshkonong, Missouri; one son, Kurt Garrett (Bilynda) of Salem, Arkansas; two brothers, Will and Larry Dale; five sisters, Viola, Iola, Velma Jean, Leta and Bonnie; five grandchildren, Levi, Lacy, Libby, Joey and Amber; six great grandchildren, Jasmyn, Kenslee, Kolt, Channing, Paycyn and Cole; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Lyle and Verl; two sisters, Rita and Melva Deen and two grandchildren, Bradley and Lane.
Graveside services will be held at Camp Cemetery, Camp, Arkansas, at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 1, 2013, with Bro. Frank Mulford officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Cemetery.
