Ezma Louisa (Baker) Hammond James was born in Deweytown, Arkansas, on February 14, 1926, the daughter of A.D. "Drew" and Josie May (Wray) Baker. She departed this life on March 31, 2013, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 17 days.
Ezma was united in marraige on October 21, 1946, to Willard "Danny" Oneil James at Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was a retail clerk for Sears for many years and was a member of the Raytown church of Christ.
Ezma is survived by two daughters; Janice Foster (J.C.) of Viola, Arkansas, and Faye Slade (Leon) of Independence, Missouri; one son Willard James of Independence, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Marty and Tommy Slade, Lisa (Russ) Cornelius, Mike Baker, Johnna Guffey (Mic), Amanda Foster, Willy James Jr, Nicole James, Sam and Rachel James; eight great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her husband; two sons, Frankie and Randy James; one daughter Beverly Baker; one grandson Perry James; parents; nine brothers, Jack, Pete, Clay and Robert Baker, Orville, Rector, Jim, Lehman and Flavis Kerley, and four sisters, Fannie Mitchell, Dealie Scott, Dicie Stone and Othie Robbins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, 2:00 PM in the Elizabeth church of Christ, Elizabeth, Arkansas, with J R Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery wtih services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Norris Baker, Ronnie "Frog" Robbins, James Kerley, Russ Cornelius, Willy James Jr and Clay Guffey.
