Darvis Neal Kinder

Darvis Neal Kinder, 84, of Salem, Arkansas, was born in Coweta, Oklahoma, on July 10, 1928, son of Thomas Roscoe and Leona Grace (Ball) Kinder. He departed this life March 1, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was united in marriage on February 18, 1983, to Merda Achterberg in Salem, Arkansas. Neal was a farmer and office manager at Humphries Feed Mill in Salem, Arkansas and Richards Brothers Feed Company in West Plains, Missouri. He was a member of the Bay Creek Church and Salem First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Merda of the home; two daughters, Peggy Holland (Harry) of McRae, Arkansas, and Darla Achterberg of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sons Gary Kinder (Randy) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jack Kinder (Lee Ann) of Newark, Arkansas, and Dennis Kinder (Debbie) of Viola, Arkansas; four sisters, Joyce Holloway (Charles) of West Plains, Missouri, Janiece Booth (Donald) of Ash Flat, Arkansas, Vera Bassham (Tom) of Salem, Arkansas, and Lenore Coleman (Bob) of Salem, Arkansas; three brothers, Leo Kinder (Dorothy) of Tulare, California, Rollin Kinder (Lindel) of West Plains, Missouri and Gaylon Kinder (Karen) of West Plains, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son Scooter Achterberg; parents and four brothers Boyd, Paul Dean, Lowell and Bobby. Funeral services will be held at Salem First Baptist Church, Salem, Arkansas, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Burial will be in the Stateline Cemetery, Moko, Arkansas under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, Salem, Arkansas. Visitation: 12:00 PM til service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Milton Lee Humphries, Edra Ray Smith, Joseph Michael Holland, Roger Kinder, Donnie Kinder and Tim Coleman.
