Nancy Kaye Fleece was born June 15, 1931, in Dayton, Kentucky, the daughter of Harrison Marton and Ann Elizabeth (Pester) Kendall. She departed this life February 19, 2013, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 4 days.
She was united in marriage at Lake Zurich, Illinois to Harlan Stanley Fleece on May 16, 1981. Nancy was of the Christian faith. She was generous with her time and very active in the Byron Community and volunteered at BRMC in the CARTI unit. Nancy was one of the original founders in 1998 of the Salem Country Quilters Guild where she was President for three years. She was a member of Fulton County Extension Homemakers Club and along with Harlan helped sponsor the Lucky Clover 4H Club.
Nancy is survived by her husband Harlan Fleece of the home in Viola; one daughter Mary Moore-Kumar and husband Anup of Ashland, Oregon; one son John Kendall Moore of Ashland, Oregon; two grandsons, Nima Blue of Portland, Oregon and Kian Blue of Sydney, Australia; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, Arkansas, at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2013. Burial will be in Cedar Vale Cemetery in Solon Mills, Illinois. Barker Funeral Home of Salem in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice.
