Loren Glenn Vieth, 99, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born in Newton, Iowa, on May 23, 1913, son of Louis W. and Mary E. (Kahl) Vieth. He departed this life Friday, January 4, 2013, at Crown Point Health and Rehab Center in Horseshoe Bend.
Loren was united in marriage to Agnes Helmina Peterson on November 30, 1940, in Roland, Iowa. He graduated from Grinnell High School. Loren farmed in the Gilman, Iowa, area for years and then worked as a salesman for Arbie Feed Company for twelve years before retiring and moving to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, in 1977. He was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church of Horseshoe Bend, and the Horseshoe Bend Lion's Club.
Loren is survived by a daughter, Karen Jones and husband Dick of Urbandale, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Connie Vieth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jeff Vieth, Dennis Vieth, Kathy Roberts, Derek Jones and Aaron Jones; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, son David Vieth, his parents, brother Berlou Vieth and two sisters, Marvyl Brittian and Lenore Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Wednesday, January 9, 2012, 2:00 PM, with Rev. David Schaller officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 12:00 PM until service time.
Interment will be in the Evening Shadows Memorial Park Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
