Ernest Dee Henry

Ernest Dee Henry, 95, of Salem, Arkansas, was born on January 1, 1917, in Salem, Arkansas, son of Walter Mack and Mattie Carolyn (Wells) Henry. He departed this life on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Pine Lane Healthcare in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Ernest was united in marriage to Carmen Wilson in Alton, Missouri. He later was united in marriage to Veronica Karhoff on November 24, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri. Ernest worked as a mechanic and welder at Grant Rainey and Sons Construction Company. He was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed refinishing furniture,fishing and dancing. Ernest is survived by one son, Randle Henry and wife Mary of Blue Springs, Missouri; two daughters, Leatrice Ramler and husband Verlin of Kansas City, Missouri, and Peggy Puckett of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Diana, Stacy, Brian, Cindy, Steven, Freddy and Jennifer: nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by both wives, parents, one son Lyndle Henry and three sisters, Nova Cole, Lavada Duke and Opal Slayton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Henry, Steven Henry, Freddy Puckett, Alex Barnes and Trevor Keller. Memorials preferred to St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
