M/SGT (RET) Robert James Stephens

M/SGT (RET) Robert James Stephens, 74, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born on May 4, 1938, in Bruceville, Indiana, son of Robert Roscoe and Wanda Jane (Helderman) Stephens. He departed this life on December 21, 2012, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. Robert was united in marriage to Alyce Jean Phillippe on July 2, 1957, in Aliceville, Indiana. He worked as a flight engineer for the U. S. Air Force. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and he was of the Protestant faith. He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Jean Stephens of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; one son, James Dean Stephens and wife Stephanie of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter, Cheryl Siedl and husband Eugene of Jasonville, Indiana; four sisters, Snotha Phillippe of Spencer, Indiana, Nancy Stephens of Potaka, Indiana, Juanita Carrie and husband Chester of Martinsville, Indiana, and Jean DeRossett of Vincinnes, Indiana; three grandchildren, James Robert Stephens, Charity Nicole Sexton and Matthew David Sexton; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Wheeler, Austin Trey Wheeler and Brennen William Markby; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles “Chuck” Stephens. Arrangements by Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
