Willie Rogers, 84, of Viola, Arkansas, was born on December 2, 1927, in Elizabeth, Arkansas, daughter of Charlie Lester and Oma Priscilla (Davis) Landrum. She departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2012, at her home. Willie was united in marriage to Ralph William Rogers on August 24, 1946, at Viola, Arkansas. She spent her working years as a secretary at Viola High School. Willie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She offered her services during election and the Viola Homecoming each year. She was a member of Center Point Freewill Baptist Church Willie leaves to mourn her passing: three sons, Roy Dee Rogers and wife Priscilla of Springdale, Arkansas, Rex Howard Rogers and wife Kimberly Ann of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Ray Bob Rogers and wife Robin of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter, Mary Louise Vasiloff and husband John of Mountain Home, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Ross Rogers, Adam Rogers, Sommer Rice, Berkely Rogers, Reed Rogers, Marissa Rogers, Eric Vasiloff, Ronnie Vasiloff and Monica Vasiloff; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012, 1:00 PM, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges and Bro. Robert Lash officiating. Interment will be in the Viola Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Danny Ward, Rick Caples, Gaylon Bridges, L. J. Campbell, Jim Walling and Jeff Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Bob Foster, E. R. Carroll, Connie Hutson, Scotty Walker, Durele Newton and Susan Williams. Memorials preferred to the Center Point Freewill Baptist Church, c/o Carolyn Walker, 165 Horseshoe Trail, Gepp, AR 72538.
