Bernestine Lily Borden

Bernestine Lily Borden, 92, of Elizabeth, Arkansas, was born on January 3, 1920, in Norfork, Arkansas, daughter of Charles Henry and Minnie Susan (Marchant) Snelgroes. She departed this life on November 22, 2012, at Fulton County Hospital, Salem, Arkansas. Bernestine was united in marriage to Grover Corbie Borden on August 10, 1938, at Flora, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother,grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Bernestine was a member of the Elizabeth Church of Christ. She leaves to mourn her passing: three daughters, Billie Joyce Martin, of Bexar, Arkansas, Sharon Mae Guffey and husband JW of Viola, Arkansas, and Linda Hunt, of Bexar, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Trina Smith, Lisa Shrable, Tresa Lester, Bryan Guffey, Lee Ann Blevins, Justin Hunt and Tony Hunt; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 2012, her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012, 2:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery at Elizabeth, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Bryan Guffey, Justin Hunt, Tony Hunt, Ray Shrable, Ted Blevins and Lee Lester. Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home.
