Flora Ellen Griggs

Flora Ellen Griggs, 82, of Salem, Arkansas, was born on December 13, 1929, in Blytheville, Arkansas, daughter of Lee and Lola Elizabeth (Mae) Twilla. She departed this life on October 17, 2012, at her home in Salem. Ellen was united in marriage to Vernon Odell Griggs on February 13, 1945, at Blytheville, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She leaves to mourn her passing: three sons, Ronnie Griggs of Salem, Arkansas, Jimmie Griggs of North Dakota and Harrel Joe Griggs of Salem, Arkansas; four daughters, Linda Livingston of Marion, Arkansas, Dorothy Lancaster of Batesville, Arkansas, Kitty Eaddy of Batesville, Arkansas and Becky Fowler of Salem, Arkansas; twenty-five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Vernon and Willie Griggs; parents, two brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Bruce, Michael Lancaster, Bryant Bruce, Floyd Johnson, Chris Sanders and Kerry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Swingle, Andrew Ninemire,Quentin Griggs and Cody Ninemire. Visitation will be Thursday October 18, 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
