Sibyl Burnell (Montgomery) Boles, 91, of Memphis, Tennessee, was born on October 7, 1921, in Strawberry, Arkansas, daughter of Clifton Emmitt and Nettie Lee (Milligan) Montgomery. She departed this life on October 9, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Sibyl was united in marriage to Amos R. Boles on February 2, 1946, at Salem, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, United Methodist Church Women’s Circle, active member of the PTA throughout all 12 school grades and active donor at LifeBlood of Memphis.
She leaves to mourn her passing: son, Donald R. Boles of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter, Mrs. Marsha L. Boles of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Bernice Dill of Lonoke, Arkansas, Doris Parish of Searcy, Arkansas, and Von McVey of Wenatchee, Washington; three grandchildren, Stacy (Boles) Purcell of Winchester, Tennessee, Deen (Boles) Waddell and Madison Boles; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Amos R. Boles, parents Clifton and Nettie Montgomery, and two brothers, J.C. and Conway Montgomery and sister, Gynon Gerber.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012, 1:00 PM, at Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, with Rev. William Kay Moser officiating. Interment will be in the Humphries Cemetery in Glencoe, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers will be nephews and nieces. Visitation will be Sunday, 11:00 AM until time of service.
