Venetta Lou Humphrey

Venetta Lou Humphrey, 75, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, was born on February 27, 1937, in Glencoe, Arkansas, daughter of George Samuel and Bertha Belle (Wells) Coggins. She departed this life on August 9, 2012, at her home. Venetta was united in marriage to Avery B. Humphrey on April 18, 1957, in Wood River, Illinois. She worked as a sales clerk and shipping clerk for Tropical Garments. She was a member of the Thayer Church of Christ in Thayer, Missouri. Venetta is survived by her husband, Avery B. Humphrey of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two sons, Bruce Humphrey of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Scott Humphrey of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Truman Coggin of Granite City, Illinois; two sisters, Barbara Ninemire of Salem, Arkansas, and Janice Cantrell of Marion, Indiana; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Gary Humphrey, parents, two brothers, Sanford Coggin and Winford Coggin, and two sisters, Lucille Bell and Erma Lynch. Funeral services will be held at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, Saturday, August 11, 2012, 2:00 PM, with Bro. Farrell Nicholson and Bro. Shawn Deree officiating. Interment will be in the Morriston Cemetery at Morriston, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Lanis Nicholson, Bobby Ray Humphrey, Blake Nicholson, Billy Hamilton, Blain Jackson and Marty Ninemire.
