Edna Vera Fairchild

Edna Vera Fairchild, 91, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born on August 25, 1920, in Cheltenham, Victoria, Australia, daughter of John Joseph and Doris Kutura (Hughes) Clementson. She departed this life on Monday, August 6, 2012, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Edna was united in marriage to Arling Marlette Fairchild on June 1, 1944, at Mentone, Victoria, Australia. She was a homemaker and worked as a claims secretary for Iowa Parcel Services. Edna was a member of the Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church, the Garden Club of Horseshoe Bend, Red Hat Society and United Methodist Women's Society and served on the board of directors for the Network of Community Options. She is survived by a son,Robert Arling Fairchild and wife Charlene, of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Sandra J. Fairchild of Salem, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Bradley Fairchild, Molly Fairchild and Emily Fairchild, all of Des Moines, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. Memorial Service will be held at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, on Friday, August 10, 2012, 10:00 AM, with Rev. Nancy Cameron officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephens Episcopal Columbarium in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Arrangements by Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend. Memorials preferred to Clayton Court, Salem, Arkansas; Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; or Garden Club of Horseshoe Bend, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
