Gerald Irvin Sims

Gerald Irvin Sims, 82, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born on May 17, 1930, in Republican City, Nebraska, son of Irvin and Pearl Marie (Young) Sims. He departed this life on July 13, 2012, at his home. Gerald was united in marriage to Lillie Jean Massey on July 29, 1956, in Arcadia, California. He worked as a construction engineer for many years and served his country in the United States Navy. Survivors are his wife Lillie Jean Sims of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; one son, Joseph Robert Fowler and wife Ivy Jean of Groveland, Florida; two granddaughters, Robin Annette (Fowler) Welch of Ocoee, Florida, and Terrie Michelle (Fowler) Payton of Winter Garden, Florida; three great-grandchildren, Justin Daniel Cyr, Taylor A. Davis, and Drake A. Reuter; and many other relatives and friends. No services are planned. Arrangements by Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
