Edward David Zak, 90, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born on September 17, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, son of Edward Casimir and Sophia Zak. He departed this life on April 10, 2012, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
Edward was united in marriage to Lillian B. Nawara on October 10, 1942, at St. Louis, Missouri. He spent his working years as a repairman for Sears and served his country in the United States Marines during WWII. Edward was a member of the St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
He leaves to mourn his passing: three sons, Donald E. Zak and wife Rebecca of Foley, Alabama, Daniel Zak and wife Jill of Naperville, Illinois, and Edward D. Zak of Elburn, Illinois; one daughter, Sandra L. Franciskovich and husband Dennis of Eagle River, Wisconsin; one sister, Elizabeth Kross; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Interment was in the St. Mary of the Mount Memorial Garden Columbarium in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
