Ralph Warren Allmon who was married to Hilda Dean Allmon for 69 years reached out his hand where Jesus his Lord welcomed him into heaven’s gate on April 9, 2012.
Throughout his (Ralphs’) 67 years of pastoral leadership, his love for the Lord gave hope and guidance to everyone who was fortunate to know him. The last church he pastoralized was the First Baptist Church of Salem, Arkansas, where he became pastor emeritus. Pastor Allmon baptized multitudes, counseled the needy and provided comfort through his daily radio program.
Bro. Allmo n is survived by his wife, Hilda of Horseshoe Bend; son, Roger and wife Audrey Allmon of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Sherry and husband Bruce Stevens of Rock Falls, Illinois, and Debbie and husband Gary Mooers of Maui, Hawaii; brother, Thomas and wife Francis Allmon of Gleason, Tennessee. Ralph’s beautiful family also includes 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marie Gorman.
Ralph spent countless hours creating beautiful memories with his grandchildren teaching them the art of fishing and hunting.
The Allmon family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Crown Point Rehab and Nursing Center for their tireless care and attention they provided to the family, to Legacy Hospice who supported the family and provided the sweetest comfort in the final months and hours before Ralph’s “going home” to the Lord, Bro. John Hodges and the people of Salem First Baptist Church.
