Wilma Lou Matthew, 51, of Viola, Arkansas, was born on May 26, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter of Charles Wilburn and Wanda Marcella (Moye) Barker. She departed this life on March 12, 2012, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
Wilma was united in marriage to Ancel Ray Matthew, Jr. on May 9, 1979, at Miami, Oklahoma. She worked as a waitress and was a volunteer for the Fulton County Hospital Foundation. Wilma loved going to auctions, loved to travel and most of all she loved her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
She leaves to mourn her passing: husband, Ray Matthew, Jr. of Viola, Arkansas; two daughters, Debbie Lou Dillinger and husband Teddy of Viola, Arkansas, and Ashley Renea Covington and husband John of Batesville, Arkansas; five brothers, Virgil Tarkington of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Tom Tarkington of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Carl Wayne Barker, Sr. of Sulphur Rock, Arkansas, Charles Barker of Batesville, Arkansas, and Bill Barker of Batesville, Arkansas; three sisters, Sue Wilson of Holland, Michigan, Bonnie Nance of Batesville, Arkansas, and Margaret Jones of Batesville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Trey, Jared, Ava Ray and Matthew Coy; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Whiteville Baptist Church in Gassville, Arkansas, with Bro. Mark Vance officiating. Interment will be in the Whiteville Cemetery at Gassville under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday March 14, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jayme Hutson, Teddy Dillinger, Chris Fountain, Eric Fountain, Michael Taylor and Jeremy Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Adam Gray and Fulton County E. R. Staff.
