Nora Ellen Bell

Nora Ellen Bell, 95, of Salem, Arkansas, was born on January 11, 1917, in Winthrop, Arkansas, daughter of James Duke and Georgia Ann Moore. She departed this life on February 14, 2012, at Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. Nora was united in marriage to John B. Bell, Jr. on June 12, 1937, at Salem, Arkansas, and to this union five children were born. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing: one son, James E. Bell of Lansing, Kansas; two daughters, Sue Smith and Lynda Staudacher of Salem, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Charles Bell, daughter Carol Hursh,great-granddaughter Lyndsay Shaffer, four brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, 1:00 PM, at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Warren Newman officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. The body will lie in state Friday, February 17, 2012, 12:00:4:00 PM, at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.
