Vaunita Colleen Dockins

Vaunita Colleen Dockins, 83, of Salem, Arkansas, was born on December 10, 1928, in Cushing, Oklahoma, daughter of Steve Harold and Leffie Lee (Caruthers) Taylor. She departed this life on February 9, 2012, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas. Colleen was united in marriage to Robert William Dockins on April 2, 1946, at Oxford, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Violet Hill Assembly of God Church. She leaves to mourn her passing: two sons, Roger Dockins and wife Pam of Oxford, Arkansas, and Jack Dockins and wife Barb of Heart, Arkansas; one daughter, Ranee Dockins of Salem, Arkansas; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Sherry Looney, parents, one grandson Shane Dockins, two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Curtis Wilson, two brothers, Vernon and Verl Taylor and one sister Veda Lee Carter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Josh Dockins, Shannon Dockins, Hunter Medling, Robbie Henslee, Alan Dockins and Lennie Henslee. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Levi Dockins and Shane Dockins. Visitation will be Sunday February 12, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to the Oxford Cemetery Association.
