Walter Dennison Dillinger, 65, of Viola, Arkansas, was born on October 30, 1946, in Viola, Arkansas, son of Theodore Roosevelt and Maxie Mae (Bales) Dillinger. He departed this life on December 11, 2011, at his home.
Walter was united in marriage to Judy Ann DeWitt on March 2, 1965, at Calico Rock, Arkansas. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. Walter was Fulton County Sheriff for six years. He also worked as Fulton County Deputy Sheriff, a truck driver, farmer, Fulton County Road Crew and Fulton County Justice of the Peace. He was a member of the Pomona Assembly of God Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Judy Dillinger of Viola; two sons, Michael Dillinger and wife Kimberly of Pomona, Missouri, and Martin Dillinger and wife Amy of Viola; one daughter, Sheila Fry and husband Jeff of Gepp; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Jonathan, Tiffany, Jesse, Raven, Deaton, Preslee and Jaden. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Dillinger and sister Gracie Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Viola Assembly of God Church in Viola with Rev. Randall Caraway officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery at Viola under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Dillinger, Randy Dillinger, Teddy Dillinger, Dean Brown, Terry Brown and Porter Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Gene Martin, Lloyd Martz, Jerry Orf, Randy Fowler, Kenny Ashley and Larry Dodd.
