Edward Huffman died peacefully at his home in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, on Saturday evening, November 19th, 2011.
Edward was born May 19, 1930, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Leroy & Agnes (Cizek) Huffman. After graduation form City High, he joined the National Guard and served from 1947 to 1949. He then joined the U. S. Army and served from 1951 to 1953 in Germany during the Korean War.
He married Louise Villhauer on June 21, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa. Louise died in 1989. Edward married Audrey Cannady September 30, 1990, and moved to Mesa, Arizona, in 1993, and finally moved to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, in 2005.
Edward was foreman for the Lyle Miller Construction Company for 35 years, building homes in the Iowa City, Iowa, area. Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great jokester too.
Edward is survived by his wife, Audrey, and his children, Diane (Melvin) Rinehart, Nancy Harper, Edward (Julia) Huffman, Jackie Huffman, Letha (Bruce) Voight, all of North Liberty, Iowa. Norma (John) Waters of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Robert (Tracey) Huffman of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. Also, surviving are his grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Harper, Elizabeth and Abigail Huffman, Jackson, Christopher, Nicole and Kelly Waters, Quinnton and Daulton Huffman.
He is also survived by his step-children, Allison (Bob) Clark, Dawne (Al) Cowgill, Larry Wood, II, as well as, 11 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren, along with his loyal and beloved dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise and daughter, LeAnn Huffman, his parents, and two brothers, Milo and Leo Huffman.
Edward was an organ donor and per his request there will be no funeral services held. Donations may be directed to Legacy Hospice of Northern Arkansas at P.O. Box 9, Salem, AR 72576, or to a Hospice of your choice.
